The email link authenticates your account. An encryption passphrase, when enabled, separately unlocks the budget records in this browser.
How privacy works
Standard private budgets are isolated from other users but can be processed by Budget’s server. End-to-end encrypted budgets are readable only after you unlock them in your browser. Losing that passphrase permanently removes access.
